This is the first year Lena has been taking dance lessons at the New Bedford School of Ballet. At the end of the year, the school put out a show. It is Coppelius, a comedy that describes two young lovers, Franz and Swanhilda, who were engaged to be married. The plot involves some misunderstanding with Franz's infatuation with a lifelike doll in Dr. Coppelius workshop, and the subsequent breakin into the lab. Lena played a Chinese doll.
In the lab, there are also Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls, Spanish dancers dolls, Irish step dancers, and other dolls.

The ballet was performed in the Zeiterion Theatre in downtown New Bedford. Two shows only on Saturday June 8. The 2 o'clock show that I went to was packed.  Paula managed to save a middle row for all of us

I completely missed taking pictures in the first act, and missed a lot of good shots. In the second act, in which the actors broke in to Dr. Coppelius's workshop, he made the dolls dance, and I wats too mesmerized by  the dances to think of taking pictures.

Dr. Coppelius and Swanhilda dance. This is in the second act, when I snapped a few pictures.

Here is Lena and the Chinese dolls.

Franz and Swanhilda.
In the last act, Franz and Swanhilda wed, and the towns people dance in celebration.  All who went said it was a very good and entertaining show.

This video is the ending dance.

This video is at the curtain call, with Lena and the Chinese dolls.
